I give in way too easily...

So, Justin and I decided to NOT find out the gender of our second baby.  I was completely content with that and really haven't even thought about it until..

Justin said, "I really wanna find out.  We're finding out because I'm a planner."

First of all this is a lie.  He is no where near a planner so, I know he just wanted to know what gender of the baby is but apparently had to justify it some way.  We argued about this and I gave in under my circumstances.

1. We have the ultra sound tech put the gender on paper and put it in an envelope and another one where she would put the u/s picture (for us incase someone wanted to play a sick joke on us).
2. We were going to Perkins restaurant and giving an envelope to a waitress and having her put either blueberry topping (boy) or strawberry topping (girl) on the pancakes, covering it up and bringing to our table.
3. Justin's aunt Missy would be there taking pictures of us during this process.

Pretty sure he thought this idea was stupid.  I mean, he didn't have to come out and say it, but I could tell he wasn't a fan.  Go ahead...ask me if that changed my mind?  Nope.  So, he got his way and I got my way.  With that being said here is the outcome:

Yay!  Tenley is going to have a little brother and we couldn't be more thrilled for our family.  This will be the first boy on my side of the family.  I have 3 nieces and I have a daughter so, my family members are pretty excited.  However, the most important part of the entire u/s is and will always be the health of our baby.  I have not gotten any results from the dr. yet, but the tech pointed out everything and said it looks amazing.  For now I am holding onto those words as encouragment that our baby boy is growing healthy.

Let's look at some picture from our ultrasound, shall we?

The back of his legs.  You can see where the umbilical cord is too!

Hands/arms over face :)

Beautiful profile.
The money shot.

Is it February yet?

Tenley's Birthday! Yes, it's a tad late...

Ok, right now I am not mother of the year, but I swear I will make up for it. Let's recap a little:

Tenley turned 1 (I cant believe it!) on July 31st.  My sweet little 7lbs 3oz-er is now a 21 lb toddler.  Full of personality and such a sweet little girl.  I mean, she is truly such a sweet heart.  Always giving hugs and kisses.  These days Tenley is now:

-WALKING!  She started toddling around at 11 months and has been full force ever since then.  I love watching her learn how to overcome her walking obstacles.
-Still only saying da-da and ma-ma.  Not sure if she knows what ma-ma means yet, but we're getting there!
-Feeding herself and enjoying it.  Her favorite food by far is fruit.  She would pass up a chocolate cake over fruit any day.  So not like her mother.
-Taking only one bottle at night.  I could cut it out if I wanted, but to be honest I love feeding her and so does Justin.  That time with her is so relaxing, it's hard to give it up.  I will, though. **sobbb**
-She loves mickey mouse and the hot dog dance.  I like doing it with her because she thinks it's "cool". I think lol.
-She is now wearing size 18 months in clothes and size 3-4 in shoes.  Still in size 3 diapers however, I could move her up to size 4.

Now onto her birthday party.  What a great turn out it was.  I think about 80 people came (I know, right?) and stayed pretty much the whole time.  I had tons of food...probably a little too much, but everyone ate well.  Center pieces turned out cute as ever and the kids loved their party favors.  Here are just a few birthday pics. ;)

Love our family :)

She loves her baby dolls.

Center Pieces

Make your own hot dog station

These were the party favors for the kids.

The cupcake's had butterflies, worms and lady bugs.  The oreos were considered the "dirt"

Food including: Hot dogs (toppings were: Coney sauce, onion, cheese, sauerkraut and coleslaw), baked beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit spears, corn bread, zucchini bread, jello (for the kids) and of course cupcakes.  Drinks were water, lemonade and pink lemonade.

Big step for Tenley.  She's not a huge fan of water, but she enjoyed herself. :)

:)

Also, I am going to include some of my favorite pictures from her one year photo shoot. :)

Hope you enjoyed the picture dump.  She is beautiful and I cna't wait to see what the upcoming years holds for her and our family.  I honestly never imagined we would have such a sweet girl.  We are beyond blessed and I am so excited that we get to give her a brother or sister!  What a great big sister she will be.  We love you so much Tenley...more than you will ever know.

What I'm looking forward to: Movement!

The waiting begins...

I have a sad/happy/cool story to tell:

My doctor called me Tuesday to let me know that my numbers are 175 (low) and that he was unsure on how this pregnancy would turn out.  Well, no more than 5 minutes goes by and a preacher, Glenn walks through our office doors (he was the preacher that prayed over my grandparents right before they passed).

Glenn said he was here to talk to me and sat down and asked me a whole bunch of questions about my grandparents and mother. My mom and I do residential appraisals together and he knew that she did and wanted her to come to his house and give her opinion on what to do to his house to make it more marketable. Even though he came there for that reason, I felt a sense of calmness even though I wanted to just break down and cry.  I felt like he came into my office for a reason and that would be to let me know everything will be ok. Isn't that crazy? Just so random, I guess.

Anyway, my doctor did not want to take a second beta but insteasd schedule an u/s for July 9th at noon. So, cool.  Now I have to wait pretty much 3 weeks to find out if the baby is ok.  I feel good though. I have sore boobs, light cramping, tired, and headaches.  Bring it on! When will the sickness start?  I'm ready for that too.

On a Tenley Note, she will be 11 months at the end of the month!  I can't believe it.  She wants to walk so bad...she stands up by herself from a sitting position and then does not know what to do from that point.  As soon as I try to help her and plops down on her rear. Walking behind her toy is no big deal to her anymore.  She will do that all over the house and I love it.

BFP!

Much to mine and Justins surprise #2 is on it's way!  Let's hope that this one makes itself comfortable in there for the next several months.  I'm so stinkin nervous though...my worries now are, what if it's a chemical pregnancy?  What if I go take my betas and they're low? I would much rather fast forward to a month from now. So, I guess I'll start my weekly surveys.  Maybe this will help pass the time.

How far along? 4 weeks

Weight gain/loss: 0

Feeling: Crampy/gassy...yummy.

Maternity clothes? Not yet, of course

Sleep: Good, like a rock.

Food cravings: Nothing.

Movement? I had some gas jolts.

What I miss? Nothing now, but I'm sure that will change.

Best moment this week: Seeing a darker line.

What I'm looking forward to: My first dr. appt monday.  Blood work ...eeek!

Next Appointment: Monday!

10 months!

I can't believe Tenley is 10 months old. I also can't believe she will be a year in 2 months!  Seriously, it's crazy.  I always and still get annoyed when people say, "it goes so fast".  Yea, no kidding, but they're right.  Not even sure if fast is the right word for it to be honest.  Anyway!

Tenley's new things at 10 months!  She is:
-POINTING. She LOVES to point at anything and everything. I love it.

-Saying more vowel sounds. (ga-ga-ga, ba-ba-ba, do,do,do). I love this too.

-Can we say, attached at the hip to mama?  Yep, sometimes she even cries when Justin reaches for her. Secretly love this.

-Stands alone for about 30 seconds..then gets excited and falls.  I love that she is so proud of herself when she does this.

-Her bed time is around 9:30.  That's ok with me though because this way I am able to snuggle her longer :)

-Finally...sleeping through the night! Once in a great while she will wake up and need a bottle, but that doesn't happen too often.  Good job, Tenley! :)

ALSO, we took our first trip to the zoo this past weekend.  Tenley wasn't the biggest fan, which I kind of expected, but at least her cousins went with us.  She is a pretty laid back baby. T be honest, it was kind of a disapointing trip because all the animals were either sleeping or there were only one! Really, the only exciting part was the aquarium because at those were swiming around and actually doing something Here are some pics from that exciting trip.

She loves hangng out on daddy's shoulders.
hmmm...not too sure.

Those big fish must be pretty scary.

Seriously?  Get me off of this!

Sell Sell Sell!!

Hooray!  It's official.  Our house is up on the market and we're ready for the offers to start pouring in. Ha.  Like that will actually happen.  It is kind of bitter sweet though.  This is our first house that we bought together, fixed up and raised our first child in.  However, I can't say that I will miss the shack. In the mean time of selling the thing, we have so many things to get done around the house and we have to keep looking for a new house. We listed our house on the 7th and we have already had 4 showings, but that doesn't really mean anything unfortunately. Excited to see what happens in the next month!

On another note, Mothers day was fun! Justin got me this adorable picture frame that was personalized.  It has pictures of me and Tenley on it, which I love to pieces.  Tenley seems to love it as well...she is always pointing to my picture when I ask her, "where's mama?". How fun.  She was sick throughout t he weekend and is still recovering.  Stuffy/runny nose and now she has a cough.  Nap time and bed time have been pretty non existent and hard on mommy and daddy as well as our poor little girl. Can't wait until this sickness is gone and we have our happy little girl back.  She has been great through it all though, so I shouldn't complain.

Aunt of 3!

Hooray!  My sister had her baby and I couldn't be more thrilled for her.  She did not know what she was having and I was excited to find that it was another little girl.  She's beautiful...she looks like her sister, Ally. Just when you think you can't have any more love for another little girl, it happens.
The labor went really well.  She got induced at 6am and broke her water around 9am.  Around 1:00p she was 4-5cm and then all of a sudden, an hour later she was pushing!  Even though the labor went quickly, it seemed like time froze. I could not wait to meet this new addition.

At 2:36pm Bentleigh Grace was born.  Weighing in at 8lbs 19.5inches. She is beautiful and the family couldnt ask for more.  Jill did great just like she did with the other 2 girls.  They are a great family and I'm just so proud.

With Bentleigh being born it makes me even more excited for what is to come with our next litle peanut.  I know that Justin is excited and so ready for #2. I can't wait!!

Baby on the brain

Yep, probably every single day I'm thinking about baby #2. I can't wait to see how Tenley reacts to a sibling, I cant wait to go through the emotions of having a baby with Justin again, and I can't wait to love another child liek I do Tenley.  Isn't it the best feeling in the world to show that much love for someone? I have been thinking a lot of those that want children so badly and kind of feel guilty for how happy I am.  I want so badly for those people to be blessed with a child of their own...just kinda makes me sad.

I am also getting really anxious because I have been bleeding for 2 weeks!  2 WEEKS! You know, tons of things go through your mind like..."oh my gosh can I get pregnant again if it's all messed up in there?" or "will it be hard for us to get pregnant again?". or the terrified," Does this mean I will miscarry again?".  Irrational? Probably, but those are just things that I am constantly worried about.  I want nothing more than to have a semi big family and want to punch anything in the throat that gets in the way,  know what I mean?

I was reading a blog that I follow daily and she was talking about how nervous she was about losing the second baby weight (you should follow HER, she is hilarious) and it got me thinking about what the heck I was gonna do with ym weight?  I know that weight is not a big deal when it comes to a baby, but I have always kind of struggled with my weight (in my own mind, who doesn't?). SO, I am taking her awesome advice and getting a belly bandit :).  I hope it work wonders like it did for her.  So, now Justin will love me even more for planning this far ahead with the next baby.  Can you believe him, he actually thinks I'm crazy for planning Tenley's 1st birthday party when she was 6 months!   Whatever, call me crazy..but I'm having a blast doing it! July here I come!! ;)

Tenley's First Easter!

I had a blast. I'm not sure if Tenley did because she was so exhausted. Poor girl.  Like any family, holidays are exhausting and it seems you need the next day to revamp your engines.  I wish I could have had an extra day with my little T-biscuit (that's what Justin calls her), but you know how that goes with work...gotta make money to pay the bills. Here are some photos from the weekend.

We went to my aunt Elieens saturday and sunday we had 2 parties.  Justins grandpas and my moms.  All 3 places had easter baskets for her.  Holy over load of candy that she cannot have therefore Justin and I have to eat/throw away.
She had 2 easter egg hunts which you can see that she really enjoyed. ha. It was more fun for Justin and I.  I actually think she was kind of scared.
